  • JONESBORO PROTEST: Of convenience store downtown.
Turns out protectors of downtown Little Rock fighting a giant MAPCO convenience store and gas station at Third and Broadway, have soul mates in Jonesboro.

There, the fight is about putting a sprawling Kum & Go at 1010 South Main in a downtown neighborhood dotted with some lovely older homes.

A Facebook page says NO to Kum & Go there.

If a convenience store with a huge array of gas pumps is going to ruin a stretch of your downtown, I would vote for the better offerings of Kum & Go, if the better option — none of the above — wasn't available.

Here's some reporting on the issue from  KASU.
