The Tuesday line is open; the strong mayor is in the spotlight

Here's an open line, plus the day's video highlights.

* WATCHING: Going to try to follow LR Board on TV tonight. Will Strong Mayor Mark Stodola be forced to break a tie on another convenience store, this one at 12th and University? The mayor's Planning Commission approved this over the opposition of the city's professional planning staff. Residential neighbors don't want it. But the nameplate on the station will say Murphy, the Arkansas millionaire oil outfit that contributes heavily to political candidates.

    One of the booths at this week's Ark-La-Tex Medical Cannabis Expo was hosted by the Arkansas Hemp Association, a trade group founded to promote and expand non-intoxicating industrial hemp as an agricultural crop in the state. AHA Vice President Jeremy Fisher said the first licenses to grow experimental plots of hemp in the state should be issued by the Arkansas State Plant Board next spring.
