Feds indict 25 in drug ring based in LR garage

U.S. Attorney Christopher Thyer announced today a 62-count indictment naming 25 people in Arkansas, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee on drug, weapons and money laundering charges.

The charges include cocaine and marijuana distribution counts. Twenty arrests were made  in Little Rock; one each in Dallas, Atlanta and West Memphis, and two people are at large.

The FBI investigation began in January 2013. The FBI purchased 1.75 kilos of cocaine from what Thyer called the Freddie Brewster drug trafficking organization and seized nine ounces of crack cocaine and more than 165 pounds of marijuana. Brewster was among those indicted.

The organization operated out of Brewster's Used Auto and Detail Shop on Forbing Road, the release said. In the arrests, more than 20 vehicles and $35,000 in bank accounts were seized.
