The state Attorney General's office announced today that a settlement against a pharmaceutical company has netted the Arkansas Medicaid program $619,894.13.

Shire Pharmaceuticals LLC was accused of illegally promoting several drugs, by making claims unsubstantiated by research, of several drugs, resulting in false claims being submitted to Medicaid for reimbursement. The settlement was based on actions filed in federal court in Illinois and Pennsylvania.

The drugs included  Adderall XR, Vyvanse, Daytrana, Lialda and Pentasa.
