A little speed for the same-sex marriage case

Posted By on Mon, Oct 20, 2014 at 11:23 AM

Plaintiffs in the lawsuit challenging the Arkansas ban on same-sex marriage asked the Arkansas Supreme Court last week to expedite the appeal of Judge Chris Piazza's ruling striking down the ban. The Supreme Court today asked parties to respond to the motion by noon Tuesday.

Briefing in the case is all but complete.

Perhaps there can be a decision reached in this case before the end of 2014 and a change in Supreme Court membership.
