Police today made official what we'd reported Monday, that Terry Charles "TC" Edwards, a familiar figure on the local music scene, was the man found shot to death in a carport on Howard Street last Sunday.

The police say they haven't developed a suspect, but they are known to be including in their inquiries a pending criminal case in which Edwards was a robbery victim.

Lindsey Millar writes for the Times this week about Edwards' life and his many friends.
