Coon Supper tickets now on sale

Tickets are on sale for that rite of Arkansas political pasage — the 72nd Gillett Coon Supper.

It's at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Gillett Elementary School gym. Tickets are $20 and benefits local education and a scholarship program. The menu includes ribs, brisket, rice, sweet potatoes and cake. And, yes, raccoon.

Tickets are also available to the Berry "Pre-Coon Supper Reception" at 3:30 p.m. that day at the Berry Farm Shop, continuing a tradition by former U.S. Rep. Marion Berry that has become an additional fund-raising event for the Marion and Carolyn Berry Scholarship at ASU. Tickets are $30 each and sold at the door. Sponsorships are available to be a Berry Good Host for $1,000 and Berry Good Friends for $500. To sponsor the event, call Ben Noble at 501-772-9473 or Gabe Holmstrom at 479-409-3329.
