Re Hutchinson's pick for prison boss

A reader inquires about Gov.-elect Asa Hutchinson's announcement that he planned for Wendy Kelley to be director of the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Yes, that position is filled by gubernatorially appointed members of the Arkansas Board of Correction and the director serves at their pleasure.

Hutchinson spokesman J.R. Davis acknowledges this. But he says Hutchinson has spoken to members of the board about his preference and believes they'll endorse his preference.
