Asa Hutchinson, who becomes governor next week, announced a couple more planned appointments to important state commissions.

He named Alec Farmer of Jonesboro, who heads a farm and commercial property investment company, to the Arkansas Highway Commission and Niel Crowson to the Arkansas State University Board of Trustees.

The Northeast Arkansas appointees will replace in both cases people from the region whose terms expired. Farmer succeeds John Ed Regenold of Armorel. Crowson succeeds Dan Pierce of Jonesboro.
