City to hire a contract lobbyist

Posted By on Sat, Jan 17, 2015 at 7:38 AM

The Little Rock City Board agenda for Tuesday indicates the Board will vote on a contract to pay Jeffrey Hoggard $28,000 to lobby for the city during the legislative session. The agenda item says five people applied and a selection committee picked Hoggard after interviews.

Odies Wilson lobbied for the city as intergovernmental relations officer in 2013, but resigned from his city job after arrest in a domestic dispute.

Hoggard, who lives in Searcy, has lobbied in the past for Entergy, USAble, Blue Cross, Arkansas for Better Schools and others.
