Two shot in SWLR during attempted gun purchase

Posted By on Sun, Jan 25, 2015 at 7:27 AM

The Little Rock police report finding two men shot in the roadway in the 10300 block of Baseline Road about 10:45 p.m. Saturday. One was pronounced dead shortly after, the other in critical condition, said Lt. Sidney Allen.

UPDATE: Police identified the victims as Angel Gonzales, 30 who died at the scene, and Uriel Mata Costilla, 20, who was reported in critical condition after surgery.

An incident report said both men were found on the shoulder of Baseline after a passerby called police. Gonzalez was unable to talk to police. Costilla said they were shot by three black men they'd met after a Facebook exchange to buy a gun.  During the transaction, one of the men pulled a gun and opened fire. They stole cash from the victims and fled in a white Cadillac.
