Police said a 16-year-old has been charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting Saturday of one of two men who were shot and robbed after meeting men on Baseline Road to purchase a gun in a deal that had been set up through a Facebook contact. He is Tyveen Jamal Davis and is being held in the County Jail.

Angel Gonzalez was killed and another man was seriously wounded in the robbery by three men. There's only been one arrest so far.

  • More on how highways were used to wipe out "blight" of non-white neighborhoods

Vox, a news website that concerns itself with energy and other issues, has a fine piece, including before and after images, on the history of the U.S. interstate system and why roads were built through the middle of cities (unless people of influence stopped them — see Manhattan, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.)
