The North Little Rock football mystery; Bolding looking for work

Posted By on Wed, Jan 28, 2015 at 5:53 PM

Arpreps.com reports that Brad Bolding, football coach last season at North Little Rock High School, is among the applicants for the football coaching job at Nashville, a small school but a traditional football power.

I don't get into prep sports much, but something is brewing with Bolding in North Little Rock. As I reported earlier this week, my question to school officials on Bolding's employment status — including the question of who holds the job of North Little Rock coach today — was met with an "it's a personnel matter" no-comment.

As noted earlier, Bolding stirred up fans with some Facebook comments following the teams elimination from the 2014 playoffs.

I have also submitted a request for information about athletic department and football spending in North Little Rock and spending of private booster organizations that support North Little Rock football. I was told this afternoon the district would not be able to respond to that request either.

  • Where's the outrage?

Am I the only person, apart from federal prosecutors, outraged about the criminal enterprise that inveigled itself into a privileged position as an Arkansas taxpayer-financed human services provider to the tune, today, of $43 million a year?

  • Trump immigration protest at LR: Quick and fierce

It was not even 24 hours ago that Sophia Said, director of the Interfaith Center; City Director Kathy Webb and others decided to organize a protest today of Donald Trump's executive order that has left people from Muslim countries languishing in airports or unable to come to the US at all — people with visas, green cards,a  post-doc graduate student en route to Harvard, Google employees abroad, families. I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
