State Treasurer Dennis Milligan fired his outreach manager yesterday, the office has confirmed.

David Singer was hired by Milligan in January as assistant legislative affairs and communications manager. In March, his title was changed to outreach manager. He briefly worked at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette before his hiring by Milligan and for Stephens Media prior to that.

Grant Wallace, assistant chief of staff for Milligan, declined to comment on the firing, saying the office does not discuss personnel matters.

Singer, of White Hall, is a longtime supporter of Milligan. It was Singer who in August of last year filed a complaint with the Ethics Commission against Milligan's Democratic opponent for treasurer, Karen Garcia. Singer asked the commission to investigate whether Garcia listed her campaign contributions properly.
