Hillary Clinton pushes for more early voting

Posted By on Thu, Jun 4, 2015 at 7:04 AM

As I mentioned yesterday, Hillary Clinton is talking in Texas today about expanding early voting and taking aim at Republican measures nationwide to make it harder to vote.

This will put her at sharp odds with Republican candidates, such as Mike Huckabee, whose record favors restricting ballot access and who famously called Arkansas a Banana Republic precisely because of efforts by the then-Democratically controlled legislature to expand early voting. Get out the vote efforts by black churches particularly rankled Huckabee and other Arkansas Republicans at the time.
