Attorney general again rejects marijuana amendment

Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has again refused to certify the language of a proposal to allow the legislature to regulate, but not prohibit, the growth, sale and possession of "industrial hemp" and "medical cannabis."

Among the ambiguities faulted in the opinion:

They are also misleading in that they would cause voters to erroneously conclude that the proposal would limit the use of hemp to industry and the use of cannabis to medicine.
 
Robert Reed of Dennard is seeking to get the measure on the ballot.
