Reuters reports on a growing effort in a petition drive for Texas to secede from the United States. Sure, there are legal complications, but backers say there's a way through Congress.

And we say: You go, Texas.

Surely Arkansas would be willing to contribute its poor folks' sales taxes (no taxes on rich people, please) so that Asa could lure Fort Hood, NASA and Lackland Air Force Base to sovereign U.S. territory. Texarkana IS "twice as nice." (Thanks to Cato for the suggestion.)

They can keep Ken Starr.
