Huckabee, Christie cut from main debate stage

  • AT THE KIDDIE TABLE: Christie, Huck.
Fox Business (Fox!), which will hold the next Republican presidential debate, has cut Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie from the main debate stage on account of low poll numbers. They'll be at, as some have called it, the "kiddie table" debate.

Let the whining begin. And Huckabee knows how to put up a whine.

UPDATE: I was unkind. I suspect the language would have been different on a CNN or MSNBC cut, but nonetheless, Huck took the fight on posture as reported by New York Times:

“I’m happy to debate anyone, anywhere, anytime,” he said in a statement, adding, “Washington is stealing from seniors, punching American workers in the gut, and bankrupting our kids and grandkids. I refuse to let that stand.”

  • Some working poor may still lose Medicaid under Arkansas’s new work requirements, study finds

Many Medicaid beneficiaries work full time — or more — but only a portion of the year, the lead author of the study noted. Among the group of recipients who aren't exempt but are currently working, he said, "we found they’re averaging about 35 hours per week. So it’s not that they’re opting to not work ... . It’s more a matter of whether they have consistent work or not.”
