Cotton and Boozman fight clean energy

Posted By on Wed, Dec 2, 2015 at 3:48 PM

Funny. Sens. Tom Cotton and John Boozman have put a hold on an Obama administration nominee for an Energy Department position because they don't have the answers they want on a power line proposed to carry clean wind-generated energy to and through Arkansas.

Funny because Cotton and Boozman have cheerled tirelessly for the dangerous tar sands pipeline to ship Canadian goop through the nation's mid-section for refining into products to ship overseas. Their concern about an unsightly electric line (and there are legitimate concerns about siting) has a whole lot more to do with their political backers than the environment, of course. They like coal, which you spell Koch.  Oh, they say they are concerned about conflicts of interest in partners. And get this, they worry about eminent domain use. In Nebraska, not so much.
