Masked robbers shoot 83-year-old woman in Helena home

Posted By on Thu, Dec 24, 2015 at 4:00 PM

KTHV reports the shooting of an 83-year-old woman who resisted masked robbers' demands for money in a home invasion in Helena-West Helena Wednesday night.

Police think the robbers wrere seeking the woman's son and money he'd recently received in a lawsuit settlement. But, the report said, he'd already spent the money on family.

CORRECTION: I wrote incorrectly originally that the shooting was fatal. The woman is being treated at a Memphis hospital and is expected to recover from the wound.
