The monthly report on state tax revenue for December shows both net and gross income down from the same month a year ago, but ahead of forecast — by 1.7 percent net and 2.2 percent gross.

A key indicator — the sales tax — fell below forecast.

For the first six months, net revenue is about $66 million ahead of forecast on total net revenue of $2.58 billion.
