Verizon Arena revises new security rules

Posted By on Thu, Jan 7, 2016 at 7:10 AM

A day after announcing new security rules, officials of Verizon Arena in North Little Rock have revised them to explicitly allow small purses

Originally, all purses and bags were prohibited, except for small clear bags, up to 14 by 14 by 6 inches.

Yesterday, officials told several outlets that small purses would be allowed. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette said the change would cover "clutch purses not exceeding 5 inches tall and 9 inches wide." Diaper bags also will be allowed, but they will be searched.

Visitors still must pass through metal detectors. The new rules take effect Friday at the Harlem Globetrotters performance.

I've always been leery of people who dislike animals. To my wife and me, a house without dog hair in the corners and a cat perched on the windowsill is as barren as a highway rest stop. We're down to three dogs and two cats, the smallest menagerie we've had for years.
