A Little Rock police officer suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder after returning fire at three men who tried to rob the Red Lobster restaurant at West Markham and Rodney Parham about 10 p.m. Saturday night.

One suspect was wounded and taken into custody shortly after. Another suspect was found hiding later. At last report, police were still seeking another suspect. The officer was reported Saturday to be alert and talking.

KARK's report includes an on-scene interview with Police Chief Kenton Buckner.

The Little Rock officer was working off-duty as a security officer. It was unclear in initial reports if the exchange occurred inside or outside the restaurant.

UPDATE: Police identified Officer Shawn Bakr, 39, as the patrolman wounded. A report said two robbers entered the restaurant and pointed a gun at Jeremy Griffith 32. Bakr saw them in a hallway and approach. One fired several times at Bakr, striking him in the left shoulder, Bakr returned fire and the two men fled while continuing to fire. Bake gave chase and radioed a description of the fleeing men. Police then responded to a call for someone with a gunshot wound at a home on Cherokee circle. A 17-year-old was taken into custody there and hospitalized.

The identify of the first suspect was not released because he was a juvenile. Later, the police arrested Troy Williams Jr., 20, of Cabot, found hiding in a shed. He was charged with attempted capital murder, battery of  a law officer and six counts of aggravated assault. A third suspect remains at large, but his role in the robbery has not been made clear.
