Lt. Carl Minden of the sheriff’s office adds:

This morning, at shortly after 05:00 a.m., emergency services was requested to respond to 211 Dortch Loop in reference to a medical call for a person having a seizure. East Pulaski Volunteer Fire Department responded first on scene. PCSO Communications received report of an East Pulaski Volunteer firefighter being shot soon after the arrival on scene. Deputies and officers from NLRPD responded to the address.

Upon arrival, the Deputies found EPVFD firefighter Ronald Jason Adams (date of birth 05-21-86) suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Adams was transported by MEMS to Springhill Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. Adams was also a full-time firefighter with the Sherwood Fire Department. The family notification has been completed as of this e-mail.

The occupants of the residence are currently being questioned in regards to the incident. PCSO Investigators are still actively working the investigation and details for release are limited at this time. Once more information is available for release, I will promptly send out an update. The large amount of snowfall received overnight is also hampering the expeditiousness of the investigation.

UPDATE:  The homeowner has been charged with manslaughter, but circumstances remain unclear
