Sad Huck watch: Mike Huckabee planning to attend Donald Trump's event tonight

Well, of course.

As we detailed earlier, Donald Trump, is hosting an event tonight, a benefit for veterans at Drake University in Iowa, which will be at the same time as the GOP debate that Trump is skipping because...well, whatever.

Trump earlier said that a couple of candidates were interested in attending. Mike Huckabee, come on down! The Hill reports

Mike Huckabee will attend Donald Trump's pro-veterans event on Thursday at the same time as Fox News's GOP debate.

Hogan Gidley, a Huckabee spokesman, told The Hill that the former Arkansas governor will still participate in Thursday's undercard debate, but will head to the Trump event after it ends.

Could be a risky move for the Huckster since he presumably wants a Fox News gig once this is all over, but he's attending the sad undercard debate, so maybe it's all copacetic.

Putting on my pundit hat, I predict some more weird stuff will happen today in the GOP presidential race.
