  • PARTICIPATION TROPHY: Rubio is coming back to Arkansas, hoping to finally win a state.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson, who has been giving the hard sell for Marco Rubio since endorsing him for president earlier this week, will campaign with Rubio at a rally at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway this Monday at 3 p.m. Details here.

Rubio is also holding a rally in Bentonville on Saturday

Rubio, despite establishment backing, has not come remotely close to winning a state. It is possible that he will never win a state, and will go on giving victory speeches after losing badly, over and over, forever enticing the media that he might topple Trump with the sheer force of so many participation trophies. But it looks like he has a real chance to win Arkansas.

It was not even 24 hours ago that Sophia Said, director of the Interfaith Center; City Director Kathy Webb and others decided to organize a protest today of Donald Trump's executive order that has left people from Muslim countries languishing in airports or unable to come to the US at all — people with visas, green cards,a  post-doc graduate student en route to Harvard, Google employees abroad, families. I got the message today before noon; others didn't find out until it was going on. But however folks found out, they turned out in huge numbers, more than thousand men, women and children, on the grounds of the state Capitol to listen to speakers from all faiths and many countries.
