KARK reports that Justin Staton, 15, pleaded guilty in circuit court in Conway today to the July 2015 shooting deaths of Robert and Patricia Cogdell, the 66-year-old couple with whom he lived.

He pleaded to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts each of abuse of a corpse, robbery and theft. He received a 35-year prison sentence. The bodies were found in woods, a day after the time authorities believe they were shot. The bodies were moved, apparently to cover the crime.

Three other teenagers face murder charges in the deaths.

Staton had been scheduled to go to trial next week.

Prosecutors have said the murder/robbery plot was hatched in juvenile jail. Staton was arrested in Conway. Others were taken into custody in Texas.
