Aug. 15 trial set for Wade Naramore

Posted By on Tue, Jun 14, 2016 at 12:29 PM

A trial date was set today for Aug. 15 for Judge Wade Naramore of Hot Springs who faces a negligent homicide charge in the hot car death of this 18-month-old son Thomas last year.

The trial originally had been set today, but the prosecution asked for a delay. The new date was set at a hearing before Special Judge John Langston. The prosecution yesterday filed a bill of particulars in the case and detailed how Naramore forgot the child was in his car when he went to work on a hot day last July rather than first taking the child to day care. He realized the child was in the car more than six hours later. The child died from the heat.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
