Challenger Bernie Sanders endorses Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. All aboard the unity train. (There is no such train in the Republican station.)

Abortion rights; LGBT protection; environment; the Supreme Court. Sanders lists all the obvious reasons to join hands, including moving the country toward universal health care (he mentions a public option and a Medicare opt-in for those 55 and older). She will make an “outstanding president,” Sanders’ prepared remarks said. He credits her for understanding the rich are getting richer while poor workers are toiling longer for less.

Clinton used her response in part to rip Donald Trump her putdowns of her candidacy.

“If fighting for equal pay and paid family leave is playing the woman card, then deal me in.”
