Noelle Nikpour,
a sometime-Republican commentator on cable TV and a former Little Rock resident, got 1 percent of the vote for a last-place finish in a six-way Republican primary race for Congress Tuesday from Florida's 18th District.

She trailed in fund-raising, too, with only about $200,000, but was helped in that by contributions from a number of prominent Arkansans including Stephen LaFrance Jr., Andrea Rockefeller, John Tyson, Bud Cummins and Asa Hutchinson III.

We mentioned her candidacy earlier.

The conversion of a national debate on race is an apt commentary for the 60th anniversary of the Little Rock school crisis and the city's effort to sell it as an occasion to laud progress. Progress would be someone talking about the elephant in the room — the white establishment's takeover of the majority black Little Rock School District.
