The Correction Department says last night’s storms damaged the Grimes unit of the prison system at Newport.

Six mobile homes used for staff housing were damaged and one employee required hospital treatment. The storm also damaged the gym, air conditioning units and storage buildings at the prison. No inmates were hurt.
