The mention of Cody Hiland in the Damascus speed trap investigation reminded me: His name is among those floating around as a potential nominee for U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas to succeed Chris Thyer, who resigned with the change of presidential administrations from Democratic to Republican.

No comment, he said.

Trump perhaps has some bigger fish to fry for the time being. Patrick Harris, a career prosecutor, is serving as interim U.S. attorney until a Trump administration appointment is made.

And, speaking of Thyer: Lance Turner of Arkansas Business reported on Twitter that Thyer, a former state representative from Jonesboro, is going to work for Centennial Bank as a senior vice president in its trust department.
