Mitch McCoy of KARK/Fox 16 notes that a notice was posted at the Power Ultra Lounge at 220 W. 6th ordering the owner of the lounge to vacate for failure to maintain a safe premises.

The city has also vowed to close the place.

This isn't the first episode of gunshots associated with the venue, though the 25 wounded in a gun battle during a rap show early Saturday was by far the worst outcome. The state alcohol regulatory agency also reports multiple problems there over the years.

Something about barn doors and cows comes to mind.

Great piece in Washington Post on the budget crisis in Louisiana. Big tax cuts and corporate welfare will do that to a state, particularly to a state whose previous governor, Republican Bobby Jindal, refused to join the Obamacare-funded Medicaid expansion. There's a lesson there for Arkansas.
