Billstown, Ark. native Glen Campbell, the singer and guitar player, has died at 81. His family disclosed he had Alzheimer's in 2011. Rolling Stone notes that, in 1968, he outsold the Beatles.

We all have a favorite Campbell song, don't we? This one's mine, because it pays tribute to my dad's favorite vacation spot, near my hometown.

The Encyclopedia of Arkansas entry on Campbell. Also, for some virtuoso guitar work, check this YouTube of Campbell playing an acoustic William Tell Overture at Central Park in 1974, introduced by Bob Hope as America's favorite Arky.
