A van drove down the pedestrian-thick middle of
Las Ramblas, a popular boulevard with tourists in Barcelona, in what authorities are calling a terror attack. There are 13 deaths and 80 injured according to recent reports.

CNN says the men in the van then went into a restaurant and gunshots were heard. It's being described as a hostage situation, but this part of the report is hazy. UPDATE: This hostage account was later discounted.
