Randi House, a kindergarten teacher at Theodore Jones Elementary in the Conway School District, is this year's Arkansas Teacher of the Year.

This will add $14,000 to the $1,000 she'd already won as a regional winner and she'll be a candidate for National Teacher of the Year.

An Education Department release credited her with incorporating reading, math, cooking, gardening and computer coding in her classroom.

She began teaching in 2004 in Tyronza, then taught first grade in Nettleton. She moved to Conway in 2011.  She has a bachelor of science in education from Arkansas State University as well as a master of science in education and reading.
