Think Big Little Rock, a group of around 100 young professionals aged 25 to 40, presented their vision for the Little Rock region yesterday at the Little Rock Regional Chamber's annual meeting at the Convention Center.

Conceived and funded by Fifty for the Future, a coalition of business and community leaders, Think Big Little Rock was charged with developing an action plan to "improve the overall community in the Little Rock region for young professionals."

Their presentation included ideas on:

* Transportation: Creation of a Regional Master Plan. The master plan would include  changes to city zoning, building and land use rules, and policies that promote public engagement.

* Pre-K: We want to make Pre-K more accessible to the general public, and to better educate the importance of Pre-K education programs.

* Juvenile Justice Improvements: We want to increase focus on the juvenile justice system by lowering recidivism rates and developing a more comprehensive and effective criminal justice system.

* Connect 501.com will be a easy to use, centralized digital source of information for public events and activities in Central Arkansas.

* Transforming War Memorial Park & Stadium to Maximize Usability We would like to see a better use of War Memorial Park. Repurposing the 18-hole golf course & better utilizing the stadium would make our most central park more accessible to Little Rock’s citizens.

* Business Recognition Program for Diverse & Inclusive Workplaces We would like data to be more accessible to the general public about diversity & inclusion in our community, as well as offer a way for organizations to measure themselves and ultimately improve the recruitment and retention of young professionals.
