Three female camels have joined the display at the Little Rock Zoo.

The one-humped dromedary camels are a year and a half old and will not reach adult size until age 7. Zoo Director Susan Altrui described camels as "fascinating, highly social animals."

The domesticated animals are widely used in Africa, the Middle East and India, the zoo said, and a significant number of feral camels can be found in Australia.
