40/29 News reports that Highfill Mayor Stacy Digby was arrested this morning. The Northwest Arkansas station reported in January that the Benton County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the mayor “on the possibility of an inappropriate relationship between him and a juvenile.”

The Benton County jail roster shows Digby, 44, was admitted to the facility at 11:30 a.m. today on one charge of sexual indecency with a child and one charge of sexual assault in the first degree, both felonies.

Highfill, a town of about 600 people, is located in rural Benton County.
