Protesters heckled Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen when she dined out at a Washington restaurant Tuesday night. Not from The Onion: A Mexican restaurant.
“If kids don’t eat in peace, you don’t eat in peace,” the small group chanted. Also: “Shame, shame, shame.”
The group, identified as Democratic socialists, also asked questions: “Have you heard the babies crying?”
She spun back:
DHS spokesperson Tyler Houlton released a statement on Twitter saying, “While having a work dinner tonight, the Secretary and her staff heard from a small group of protestors who share her concern with our current immigration laws that have created a crisis on our southern border.”
Still lying. The law didn’t create the crisis. Trump policy, enforced by Nielsen, did that.
