Trump plans $12 billion in farmer welfare payments to offset tariff damage

Posted By on Tue, Jul 24, 2018 at 10:43 AM

The Washington Post says Trump plans $12 billion in emergency aid to farmers to offset damage done by his trade war.

Welfare for millions of others harmed by his policies — such as access to health care or clean air and water — is not in the cards.

The Post also notes:

The new plan at the Agriculture Department would advance emergency funds for these farmers but likely not provide a long-term solution if the trade disputes with China and other countries persist.
Arkansas soybean farmers are particularly at risk of major losses thanks to Trump.

PS: Is this socialism?
