Walmart has announced it will deliver groceries ordered online in Little Rock, North Little Rock, Sherwood and Bryant for $9.95  per order. The service begins Tuesday, Sept. 25.

You order online, choose a one-hour delivery "window" and store employees fill the order for delivery. The fee is paid online, so no money need change hands at the house. Walmart says it plans the delivery service in 100 metro areas. Walmart promises no difference in online and store prices.

This expands existing online ordering for store pickup.

I'm a fogey. I'd rather do my shopping in store — hefting and poking vegetables; choosing between cuts of meat, deliberating on quantities, planning meals as I go. But my kids in the big city have been home ordering for years.
