The Gun Sense open line

Here's the open line, including a KARK report on the accidental shooting death last night of a five-year-old at home with older siblings on Wycliffe Drive in Southwest Little Rock.

And still the Mothers Demand Action for Gun Sense movement is derided as dangerous and un-American. They don't seek to curtail gun ownership, but push for things like safe storage laws, universal background checks, red flag laws and other measures that could discourage both criminal and accidental deaths by gun.

No, laws won't guarantee more responsible gun owners. Nor do murder statutes guarantee an end to homicide. But we believe them to be a deterrent. Lest why bother?
