Donald Trump
staged a public meeting today with Democratic leaders and vowed to shut down the government if Congress doesn't give him money to build a border wall. There's a film of the scrap at the Washington Post link.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer attempted rational comment. Trump talked over them in the end then terminated the session.

The blame game is underway in the expectation that no compromise is likely between spending levels proposed by Democrats and Trump.

Blaming Democrats seems a stretch given the arithmetic. Republicans currently control the House and Senate, right?
