It started as disturbance with weapon and shots fired at Walmart on Cantrell near Chenal. Two kids were in the car and are out now… and safe.

It’s Christmas time, not always happy family time.

The Little Rock police began the chase responding to a report describing a kidnapping at a Walmart parking lot on Chenal. Shots reportedly were fired by a man at the children’s mother. No one was hurt then. The car stopped at Maumelle Boulevard and the driver got out of the car, a Little Rock police spokesman said. He was pointing a gun at himself. At this point, police officers removed children from the car.

Apparently the father was picking up children in a pre-arranged swap with the mother when an argument began. It’s not clear if one or both children were in the car when he drove away. But no one was hurt.
