As if you needed any more proof of just how much the Arkansas beer scene is booming, along comes the latest addition to Little Rock area; the Little Rock Brew Bus. It’s a full service tour and transportation company offering craft beer tours of Central Arkansas fronted by Little Rock businessman Donavan Dossett

Brew buses are popping up in many of the better “beer cities” now, with places like Denver and Asheville providing tour companies to take you to each freshly brewed pint safely. Brewery tours are nothing new, and have been commonplace in Europe for decades.

Donvan tells me the bus came about in a brainstorming session as he and his partners saw a void in this area. With a background in marketing and tourism industry, Donavan has been a small business owner for a while. He wanted to do something unique to the area, especially with the growing craft beer scene, like he’d seen while living in Denver, Colo., with its thriving beer community.

They’re starting with one, but future plans call for multiple buses acting as continuous shuttles through Central Arkansas’s brewery scene, with pickup and drop off at Diamond Bear Brewing Company in North Little Rock.

They’ll also be putting together special tours with larger charter buses such as the already planned Hot Springs Craft Beer Festival bus on May 30, which includes a VIP Ticket, round trip transportation from Little Rock to Hot Springs plus giveaways and much more on the bus for $100 per person. It will also feature a pickup and drop off at Diamond Bear Brewing Company. Tickets for that tour are already on sale at their website

They’re also currently gauging interest with area beer lovers wanting them to handle the driving for the 6th annual Memphis Brewfest on April 18. Possible trips to the Northwest Arkansas area and a trip to Memphis to visit its brewers are under consideration as well.

They’re hoping to get the local shuttle up and running as soon as this coming Valentine’s Day weekend.
