Down Go the Mighty North Carolina Central Eagles

Posted By on Wed, Dec 10, 2008 at 10:02 PM

I imagine car horns must be blaring and church bells ringing in Arkansas tonight. How else should you celebrate such a big victory?

In case you haven't heard, the Razorbacks just defeated the North Carolina Central Eagles, proud owners of an 0-9 record heading into tonight's contest, 98-70.

Michael Washington, Courtney Fortson, Michael Sanchez and Rotnei Clarke all had good games - but really, it's hard to glean too much when the opponent is so weak.

These are definitely the dog days of the non-conference schedule. Let's hope we're not longing for them once the conference season starts.

If anyone saw the game, please add your observations in the comments thread.

  • Where in the World is Charles Balentine?

Charles Balentine remains well-known among Razorback fans for hitting the 3rd biggest shot in Arkansas history (we'll give you two guesses as to what #1 and #2 are), but many other details of his storied career are slipping away into the mists of time.

This year's NFL draft has come and gone. ESPN can put Mel Kiper back in the closet, or he can go back to the Pentecostal Church he pastors.
