AmyB's Gettin' Out: Hump Day, with Staind

Posted on Wed, May 3, 2006 at 2:30 PM

AmyB's report, and you can either spend some bucks on the Staind show, or hit some of the clubs:

Of course, there’s the Staind and Three Days Grace show tonight at the Clear Channel Metroplex at 7:30 p.m. It’s $34 or $36 www.ticketmaster.com. I know some people that have been preparing for this show for a month; it’s gonna be on fire, no question.

I called the Fellowship Bible Church Worship Center and the concert tonight with Mercy Me, and it’s been sold out, sorry…

It sounds like a music casting call for “Metropolis”: Wilderness, Parts and Labor, Year Future and local guys Fits and Starts. The girl that handed me the flyer about this Downtown Music show informed me that this would be big. Admission is $5, all ages, 9:30 p.m.

Sorry to say I’ve never heard of’em, but to those that do: Dementia, along with Cradle Scythe and Tmesis are at Juanita’s tonight at 9 p.m. $5.

Also,  there’s music tonight by jazzy pianist Chris Gully from 6 until 10 p.m. at Renos', right next to Cornerstone on Main in North Little Rock. There’s no cover. There is live music every Wednesday through Friday, with no cover.

No bands tonight at Sticky Fingerz or Vino’s, according to respective staffs -- now that’s unusual…

A good time to don those yellow suede Mr. Cool loafers you’ve had hidden in your closet: Chicago bop and dance classes 9 p.m. tonight at the newish jazz bar, called Jazzi’s on 5200 Asher Ave. Check it out, they also have other upcoming events like poetry night, and live music Thu.-Sun. The cover varies. 562-6919.

On the Rocks: Karaoke. Tonight. 8 p.m. 374-7625.
