Gettin' Out Saturday..Hurry!

Posted on Sat, May 6, 2006 at 5:17 PM

Ooohhh it's a little late in the day, so I'll make this quick....

For rock: Smoke Up Johnny with the Clicking Beetle Bad Omen Band. Pizza D' Action. $5.

Act like a Queen: Queen For A Day does "We Are the Champions"  and "Fat Bottomed Girls," among others all under the roof of Sticky Fingerz tonight. 9 p.m. $5.

Austrailian harmonica and digeridoo blues? Yep he does it, Harper is at Cajun's tonight. This is not to be missed for blues fans. He throws it out 12-bar and Sonny Boy Williamson-style. 8:30 p.m. $5.

Or something else bluesy: the Afterthought has Billy Jones Show and Revue. Their performances are entertainment SHOWS. I wonder if the now non-smoking bar will let him shoot fire out of his hands. This band is fun, fun, fun. He does a great covers of  "I'm Gonna Marry My Mother-In-Law,"  and "Caribbean Queen." Count me in. 8 p.m. $5.

The nice young man at Vino's says they'll be having two "sorta emo" bands tonight at Vino's: About Last Night and Ezell In Love. Sounds like Emo to me. All ages. 8:30 p.m. $5.

Underground Pub. Magnificent Bastards. 9 p.m. $5.

Grumpy's Too is probably gonna have a nice quiet evening tonight, considering their big blowout last night. There's music, though with Matt Dame. No cover.

Runaway Planet will play at White Water Tavern tonight right after their gig at Toad Suck. 10 p.m. $5.

Jaded Heart at Cornerstone Pub. 8 p.m. $5.

The boys of Stone Mountain Crew art at the Sports Page tonight. Their acoustic jam rock is really coming around. Jake Fancher opens. They'll be at the Sports Page tonight 8 p.m. $3.

My colleagues John Ray and Jesse Bacon and I estimate, in the first analysis of its kind for the 2018 election season, that the president's waning popularity isn't limited to coastal cities and states. The erosion of his electoral coalition has spread to The Natural State, extending far beyond the college towns and urban centers that voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. From El Dorado to Sherwood, Fayetteville to Hot Springs, the president's approval rating is waning.
