Guitarist Chris Henry lands Monday spot on 'GMA'

Posted on Fri, May 12, 2006 at 4:08 PM

That's the local "GMA," as in "Good Morning Arkansas" at 9 a.m. on KATV. But if you have a chance at a TV set between 9-10 a.m., catch Chris Henry, a young guitar phenom from Little Rock who shocked and awed the crowds at the Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase earlier this year. He might draw comparisons to John Mayer, but he's got a harder edge to his songs, and he gets a wonderful layered sound out of his acoustic guitar.

Henry will do his set solo (probably a couple of songs and some bumper music before the 'GMA' crew cuts away to commercial), but for Riverfest May 28 he's assembling a group (at least a trio) including bassist Roland Gladden.
